Tryouts
U9-U12 only

A special thanks to all players who came out for Tryouts 2025, where we evaluated over 80 players of boys and girls!

In the next few days, players will be notified from coaches via email about potential team opportunities.

If you missed tryouts, but are interested in our club, please consider attending Skills Camp where you will meet our coaching staff, and get some great practice time.
Unable to make Skills Camp, but you still want to know more? You can also complete one of our player interest forms and we will reach out to you promptly.

We look forward to building great teams and continuing to encourage the excitement, competition, and character of athletes through the sport of soccer.

We are United!

Why Tryouts?
U9 - U12
Our number one goal at The Club is to give your child a chance to develop, both as a member of the community and as a soccer player. We realize that players develop at different rates, which means that today’s standouts may not even be playing soccer in a few years. Further, those that develop later may move from a substitute role to one of the top players on their team. This reality provides a unique challenge for building rosters each season.
Each summer, Liberty United will host a tryout opportunity for the community. If an opening exists on a current team or we have enough players to fill a new team, then we will do so at this time. We encourage you to invite friends to these camps to expand our community and give us more flexibility in placing kids with comparable levels of development.
If, in the coaching staff’s opinion, the incoming players are significantly better than your child, then they may recommend that your child move to another team within The Club (if it is available), or to a recreational team if it gives your child success in their development among players with appropriate levels of competition.

Please know that the club’s recommendations are intended to be in the best long-term interest of your child.

Playing Time
When players reach U9 or a team transitions to more competitive soccer, all players will play, but their playing time may not be equal and will be based on their contribution to the team. Coaches regularly have conversations with players about expectations and improving field time.
If you have additional questions about ways to increase your child’s playing time, please have this conversation with your coach.
Player Placement
It is our goal to find a place for everyone that wants to play for Liberty United. Being a small club, we understand that this may not always be possible given our number of coaches and teams. Until the coach determines that a team is ready to move to local “Competitive” soccer, teams will be built primarily on birth year and we will try to group friends together when possible. Please understand that we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

Competition
It can be a natural progression for some players to want to put more and more work into soccer to achieve bigger results. The Club seeks to fill the space between purely recreational and year-round elite competitive soccer that travels outside of the local area.

The Club further believes that players perform the best when they are teamed up with similarly motivated teammates. Other important traits include:
-
Coachability
-
Comfort on the ball
-
Field awareness
-
Stamina
-
Cooperation
